Platte Valley Youth Theatre (PVYT) is excited for our slate of 2026 youth programming offerings! Whether you are an experienced performer or just dipping your toes in, there's something for everyone. We create a safe space for our young actors to develop their love for theatre, connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, find inspiration and creativity, and expand their world view through theatrical content.

PLATTE VALLEY YOUTH THEATRE PRESENTS: MY TIME TO SHINE
My Time to Shine is a once a week class that will teach your kids the basics from Do-Re-Mi to the step touch. The energetic and professional environment is prefect for your kids to have fun and progress with their talents. The three performances offer a variety of experiences on stage with different audiences that showcase their progression. Your child will flourish in talent and in character with My Time To Shine!

COST: $100 Camp Fee (1st Child) per youth, $20 Discount per sibling

Includes: Seven classes and two performances, costume, practice music, class and individual pictures

Don't worry about family vacations, all new choreography will be recorded an put on a shared video site. Go, enjoy your vacation and the kids will still have fun practicing wherever they go!
Groups:

Starlets [Ages 3-5 ] 9:00-9:45 -- An active fun class that will focus on teaching familiar exciting songs with simple dance movements to develop coordination and confidence.

Blaze [Ages 6-8] 9:45-10:30 -- This class provides an energizing environment that introduces
musical harmony and dance techniques to provide dynamic performances. -
Flash [Ages 9-11] 10:30-11:30 -- This class combines musical rhythms with simple dance technique. It will challenge hand eye coordination and develop confidence for performing on stage.

Glitz [Ages 12 +] 11:30-12:30 -- Get excited about gaining some dance technical training; turning, leaping, balance and expression while learning some of Broadway's most popular music.
Have a summer birthday and not sure what class should I sign up for?

Starlets is perfect for the kids who have not gone to Kindergarten.

If you have gone to Kindergarten, sign up for Blaze.

Glitz is perfect for those kids who have been in Middle or High School.

Lights, Camera… ACTION! PVYT Acting classes

Join us for a fun and high-energy 4-week Acting Class designed to build confidence, creativity, and stage skills! Whether you're brand new to theatre or already love the spotlight, this class is the perfect place to grow.
Students will:

Explore character development

Work on short scenes and performances

Build confidence speaking in front of others
In just four weeks, actors will strengthen their voice, movement, and teamwork skills — all while having a blast! The class will wrap up with a small showcase to celebrate what we’ve learned. Come ready to laugh, take creative risks, and shine on stage!

Sing, Dance, Act — Shine on Stage! PVYT musical theatre classes

Step into the spotlight with our exciting 4-Week Musical Theatre Class! This high-energy class is perfect for performers who love to sing, move, and tell stories through music.
Students will:

Learn fun songs from popular musicals

Practice choreography and stage movement

Develop expressive acting skills

Build vocal confidence and projection
-
Strengthen teamwork and stage presence
Over four weeks, performers will grow their triple-threat skills in a supportive and upbeat environment. The class will end with a small showcase performance to celebrate all their hard work! If you love Broadway-style fun and aren’t afraid to shine, this class is for you!

Musical Theatre WorkshopS
Spooky Spotlight: Halloween Musical Theatre Workshop
Get ready for a frightfully fun Musical Theatre Holiday Workshop on Saturday, October 17th!

COST: $25 per participant + $2 fee
Sing, dance, and act your way through spooky songs, playful choreography, and Halloween-themed scenes. Performers will build confidence, learn fun musical numbers, and bring out their inner spooky star — all in one high-energy morning! Students will perform at the end of the class.
Holiday Harmony: Christmas/Winter Musical Theatre Workshop
Celebrate the season with our magical Christmas/Winter Musical Theatre Workshop on Saturday, December 5th!

Students will sing joyful holiday songs, learn festive choreography, and bring heartwarming winter stories to life on stage. It’s the perfect way to kick off the season with creativity and cheer! Bundle up, bring your holiday spirit, and get ready to shine! There will be a short performance at the end of class.

program leaders
Elizabeth Bohannon grew up in St. George, UT, in a very musical family. Her love for performing and theater started at a young age. She graduated from Utah State University with a BFA in Theater Education and a minor in Spanish Teaching. She moved to Colorado in 2021, and hopes to never leave! She loves teaching and inspiring youth to be their best selves through theatre. She currently teaches theatre full time at Fort Lupton Middle School and private voice lessons after school. She is thankful for the support of her husband, Tucker, and her three small children. She loves being a part of the PVYT team and working with these talented directors and kids!
Leslie Zirker enjoys teaching the arts to kids while watching them grow in confidence and skills. She choreographed/co-directed Chatfield High School’s musicals for 10 years. She is also currently a choreographer for the Colorado Children’s Chorale. Leslie has Co-directed Platte Valley Youth Theatre since 2012. Leslie has been a part of many professional musical groups over the years. She enjoys the opportunity to teach her own kids and share in these experiences with them.
